adidas has revealed the brand new 2010/2011 adidas Chelsea Home Jersey and kit to be worn by the Blues next season. The new Chelsea home jersey will actually be worn for the first time during Chelsea's final Premier League match against Wigan, where at this point, it looks as though they will be crowned Premier League Champions.
The new Chelsea home jersey will feature a contemporary red v-neck design, while the kit will maintain the traditional all blue with white socks look of Chelsea. The new Chelsea jersey integrates adidas' TechFit jersey technology which will help improve speed, increase endurance capabilities and enhance proprioception.
Unfortunately for Chelsea fans, the authentic TechFit Chelsea jersey will not be for sale; the Chelsea replica jerseys will instead feature adidas' ClimaCool technology.
The new Chelsea home jersey launch will be supported by an advertising campaign 'Made from 100% Chelsea' developed by pop artist and Chelsea fan Sir Peter Blake.
If you're wondering about the red collar of the new Chelsea home jersey, it pays tribute to the club's long association with the Pensioners, the red-coated war veterans whose name they informally adopted between 1905 and 1952. In 1953, Chelsea actually re-launched the official club badge featuring small amounts of red.
